Pilates for Healthy Bones Group Class

Our classes are focused on increasing your strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and body awareness by implementing the exercises that are safe and useful to stimulate bone density . These classes are specially useful if you have osteoporosis/osteopenia. We will modify traditional Pilates exercises to avoid motions contraindicated for osteoporosis (including loaded forward flexion, extreme lateral flexion and end-range spinal rotation). We will emphasize on exercises that support spinal extension, decompression, and bone health.

The class includes mat work and standing exercises, all performed with an emphasis on alignment, breath support, spinal elongation, and activation of core muscles. This informative class will aid your understanding of concepts and movements in relation to bone health, and help you perform daily life tasks with comfort and ease.

Requirements to participate 
  • All Participants must be able to get up and down from the mat safely without assistance.
  • All  participants must be screened by our registered physical therapist for their balance, ability to transfer, flexibility and strength prior to joining the class. This screening is required because we care about your safety and your individual needs in the classes.

Thursdays: 9:30 am to 10:30 am

6 week package is $156 ( $26 per class) , One make up class is allowed
